Happy Halloween 2011

This past weekend we had another party for the Monkey and her friends.  A good time was had by all.  Here are a few pics.  I think they tell the story pretty well.

The kids were all well behaved, had a great time and they were still talking about it at school today.  Because I went to all the trouble to put up the decorations I left them there a little longer than the 5 hour party.  We will take everything down tomorrow.  Why does time fly so fast when you are having fun?  We had so much fun we are already scheming about next year's party.  For now, we'll focus on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm just happy...

Do you ever suddenly feel a wash of happiness come over you, and you don't even know why? That's me. Right now I'm just happy.
Actually, I do know why. My heart is so full. My daughter makes me so proud and amazes me every day. I love her with everything I am. There is nothing I wouldn't do for her. I wish everything wonderful in the world for her. The best part is that she loves me just as much. To have her look up to me and respect me means so much. It makes my heart so happy.
On top of that amazingness...my honey. Wow, can I just say I love him so much! He can even make me smile when I am angry!  He makes me smile several times every day and I often throw my head back and laugh at whatever he is doing or saying. It has been a long time since someone made me laugh this hard and this often. What a great feeling.
That these two have come together in mutual admiration has simply blown my mind. I couldn't be more lucky - or happy.

I can't stand it! I want one...

This might be the cutest car I've ever seen - the Daihatsu Basket.  It is a concept car that debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show.  Look how cute!  Love those linen (or linen look) seats/dash/accents.  I even like the soft green paint job.  OMG, so cute!!!  I die!

Florida was awesome! Finally an update..

Wow, we had a great time! The flight out was okay. We were on the very last row so the arms didn’t go up and we couldn’t lean back. Sadly, the people in front of us sure could! Not the most comfortable ever but the flight was smooth and we were officially on vacation so…so what! We arrived, got our car and headed to the beach. As soon as we got to the house we dropped everything and walked out to the soft white sand. Glorious! The weather was perfect, the sand was perfect, the water was perfect. Just perfection all the way!

That night my sisters met us for dinner at Middle Grounds. The food was fantastic and the company was even better.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed a snow cone stand next door that looked yummy and we decided we would get one after dinner. Sadly, they were closed when we walked out, HOWEVER, there was a sweet young man (valet driver) that happened to have one in his hand, not a bite taken. He felt bad that the Monkey didn’t get one so he gave his to her! So sweet. Let me tell you, that snow cone was so good that we went back every day for another! The flavors were incredible and they even put a scoop of delicious ice cream in the middle so they are kinda creamy. YUM!

Every day was beautiful and we spent lots of time relaxing on the beach, visiting, drinking, eating, and watching the sun set.

Monday was our day at Disney. We didn’t head over until 2pm but stayed until they closed. We had a blast! The Monkey even got a $15 light-up double balloon. Totally worth the price.

On our last evening we had the pleasure of seeing my nephew’s band perform. Justin has an incredible voice, especially live, and their new songs are brilliant! Can’t wait for the next album to come out. All of his band members are so sweet and very talented. They just found out they are opening for Band of Horses and Kings of Leon in August! So exciting. You can find them on iTunes, just search for The Groves. They are going to be huge. Go ahead, find them and spread the word. Then you can say you knew them back when…

Unfortunately, we had to leave way before we were ready. The last day was filled with a few negatives including a lost wallet, confiscated mug at the airport and no more beach, but all in all the trip was fabulous. We’re already ready to go back!

Thank you to my beautiful sister Vicki! Thank you to my beautiful sister Michelle and her amazing family! Thank you both for the special time and making my sweetie feel welcome and loved. Thank you both for being proud of my Monkey like I am. Thank you beach, thank you sun. Thank you Monkey for being awesome. Thank you my love for all that you are. You make my life better, always, and this trip together was just further proof.

Florida...

I am so excited to go to Florida for our family vacation - very soon!  I can't wait to see my sisters and their families.  I don't get to see them enough.

A fun week or two...

The past few weeks have been pretty eventful.  My love's birthday was last weekend.  Monkey and I made him a cake and later he and I got together with friends and went to Hula Hut and the Hangar.  Good times.

After another eventful (?) week at work, including an unscheduled trip to the orthodontist to remove a tooth from the Monkey's mouth, another fun weekend popped up.  Oh wait, on Wednesday we saw Bridesmaids.  It was HYSTERICAL!  

This weekend we relaxed a little - no, a lot.  Sunday morning we made our first Frittata.  It was spinach and mushroom and super delicious.  Can't wait to make another one!  

We did a few things to my love's house this weekend too.  I got a few pictures of the door re-do.  Here is a before and after.  I think it looks so much better.

Not much else to report, at least nothing I can think of right this very second.
Life is good.

Sandy and I were talking this morning - she watched The Voice last night - and of course she agreed with me that Adam is HOT!  There are some reeeeeeeally hot pictures of him on line.  Google him if you dare.

So yes, Adam is hot.  I am usually attracted to guys that are a little more "scruffy" I guess.  You know, the ones with the crooked nose or the bad boy scar or the frazzled hair.  Mr. NOT Perfect.
Depending on how they act in movies, interviews, etc., I either like or dislike them even more.  Take Tom Cruise for example.  Used to be super hot to me.  Top Gun...beach volleyball...just sayin'

One of my very faves is Patrick Dempsey.  I have loved him for forever.  Sandy kept the little secret from me until TODAY that he lives here in Texas part time and actually shops at his local Target!  I'll be making a road trip this weekend for sure and camping out at Target.  Yummmmmmmm

Loving The Voice...

Did you watch?  I did and I loved it!

Everyone is talking this morning about The Voice!  It was really good.  Good "coaches", good singers, good format.  It was fresh, new, original and fun to watch!  Love the banter between coaches.  Love that the singers sometimes get to pick which coach they want.  I was pretty impressed with some of the singers.  Right now I'm for Adam's team - mostly Adam - mostly because he's hot! 
Look out American Idol, a new show is in town and it's making you look pretty sad.
